It is clearly documented that young people need support when moving on, especially after a positive placement.
We are aware of our responsibility to provide a full range of opportunities so young people can grow into valued and effective life long learners and successful adults.
All our work is directed towards providing a young person with an opportunity to fulfil the potential. We have strong links with colleges, work placements, leaving care services and supportive agencies.
Our residential social workers and the key-working team can provide outreach programmes that support transitions.

Burntisland citizens of the Year 2009
- Tall Trees and no 76 offer a fine opportunity for young people to ‘bridge’ the gap between school and moving towards more independent living.
- We have many successful experiences of young people sustaining placements within mainstream schools and being in our care; or accessing mainstream after a period within the residential programme.
- We provide opportunities to experience enriching cultural, leisure and recreational activities building confidence, skills and a sense of achievement.
- Planned and focused therapeutic work is undertaken to support positive change and to encourage young people to make good choices and reach their potential.
- Links with colleges, work experience and careers are widely available.
- We can offer continued support beyond placement if requested, Reaching Out beyond a placement.
