Residential Child Care Workers
We are looking to recruit Residential Child Care Workers who are passionate about working with children, recognising their potential and understanding the challenges that they may present.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
To provide high standards of nurturing, attuned care to children and young people with complex needs and vulnerabilities.
To ensure the safety and protection of young people is of paramount consideration and to follow the guidance incorporated in our child protection policy.
To work as part of an effective team upholding the Health and Social Care Standards and the principles and core values of The Promise.
To undertake key worker duties and ensure that all aspects of a child’s support plans are kept up to date.
To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, communicating to a high standard with internal and external colleagues.
To build therapeutic relationships with children and young people that are founded on trust, love, understanding and acceptance.
To engage and encourage children’s participation in school, play, activities, hobbies, and support quality time with family and friends.
To attend team meetings and contribute to the running of the house, providing creative solutions and suggestions for positive change.
To complete reports, records, care plans to a high standard.
To embrace training and development opportunities that will enhance your knowledge and skills.
Desirable qualities and qualifications:
Previous experience of working with young people with complex needs and vulnerabilities, nurturing and therapeutic approach to building relationships.
SVQ 3 and/or HNC in Social Care is desirable but not essential as having the right values would be a core requirement for this post. We would accept candidates who are prepared to work towards these qualifications, or if you have experience in the social care sector and/or can demonstrate transferable skills and knowledge.
Resilient, solution focussed, supportive, flexible, can-do attitude, creative, caring and understanding.
Child centred values and practice, with a clear understanding of attachment, trauma and neurodiversity.
Good verbal and written communication skills.

Senior Residential Child Care Workers
We are looking to recruit Senior Residential Child Care Workers. As a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, you will help create a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where young people can develop, achieve and reach their potential.
You will:
Provide high-quality, child-centred and trauma-informed care.
Lead and support colleagues on shift, promoting high standards of practice.
Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
Undertake key-worker responsibilities and contribute to individual care and support plans.
Support young people with their daily routines, education, activities and development.
Make confident and appropriate decisions when managing challenging situations.
Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed.
Work collaboratively with our residential, education and therapeutic teams.
This is a senior role and we are looking for candidates who can bring experience, confidence and leadership to our teams.
You will have:
Relevant experience of working with children and young people with complex needs and vulnerabilities.
Experience of leading, guiding or supporting colleagues within a care environment.
Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
A child-centred, trauma-informed approach to care.
Knowledge and understanding of attachment, trauma and neurodiversity
The resilience and confidence to respond effectively to challenging situations.
A commitment to safeguarding and achieving positive outcomes for young people.
SVQ 4 Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 9, or a willingness to work towards the required qualification.
